You're likely to fail the MOT (UK), been told the rear cats must be there (visible).
if it's grunt you're after upgrade to 3 inch pipes from the rear cats.
I put an X pipe on mine and ran dual 3inch pipes to a dual intake Flowmaster Super 44 and the sound is great IMO.
Or dual 2.25 from cats back.
