Funny, I was there for CAA6 and yet, many of the photos posted here are of places I don't remember going to last time.
As I've said before, there is SO MUCH to that area that you can't see it all in one or two trips - not sure you can EVER see it all unless you live there.
I part company with Franc and ded on this, we can support many meets each year. A "great meet" is not necessarily one that attracts 50 or 75 cars - great meets, for me, are not defined by numbers but by the people who attend. (Maybe Woodward is different, I'd enjoy that even if I went alone - it is an event all unto it's own.) And remember, this is the third, not second, Eureka meet we've had - a few of us went there last year and, I am sure, had a great time.
THIS BRINGS ME TO ANOTHER POINT: I was getting SO depressed over missing CAA8. I'd wanted to go back for TWO YEARS, and then stuff in my personal life got in the way. Kleito had planned a "Snake" meet months before for this past weekend, it was only four hours from me and only a two day event - I managed to attend, late Friday night, I went to bed knowing I'd get up EARLY and drive up before they left for the day - we had six cars. It was good medicine for me and I"m no longer depressed. But the lesson is this: Anyone can plan and hold a meet. You never know what will turn into an event (I'm sure Greg and Sherri had no idea that Eureka Springs would go over so well that we'd go back.)
The Dragon is already, really, shrinking into a Fall-only event. Look at attendance in the spring - the Canadians and Midwesterners already can't come to spring with the weather threats that time of year (and when Easter falls on that weekend, attendance really suffers - too bad too , cause the place is deserted on Easter weekends.

) But we are gonna keep having spring for those who can come.
I think THE MORE MEETS the BETTER. Even if it takes from attendance at my favorite meet (Fall Dragon), I can live with it. Of course, dont' get me wrong, the Fall Dragon is where and when I see most of my longtime XF friends.
And let me say it again - the meets are more about seeing my friends than driving roads or seeing various attractions.
