Default Re: Air Conditioner Seems to be Intermittantly Shut Off

I own 2007 Crossfire, 6-speed, 110,000, daily driver in TUCSON, Arizona, AKA Hell!

Just recently my air conditioner started getting goofy on me. Run-stop-run for reasons I could not nail. Did a bit of plugging around, saw too many refer to the "HVAC resistor," so for $200, I replaced it, with the air cabin filter. Total time, 35 minutes for both.

Now that I know what I'm looking at, I don't think I had to replace the resistor. My cabin filter was so dirty that the air flow necessary to keep the resistor cool was non existent. If I had not purchased the resistor, I would have tried to see if changing the filter alone would have been enough to fix my problem.

But I replaced both, and for 4 days, my air conditioner "gremlin" appears to be gone. If it comes back soon, I'll clue you all in.

Now if I can find out how to run my "P0410" code to ground. Ordered the check valve, $30, it is cheap, easy, and it is a start. Next, I'm going after the relay. Then a hammer, 10lbs, should do the trick. The damn thing doesn't stay on long enough for me to recreate the problem on demand.

News to follow on that point as well. So, here is driving with A/C in Tucson. Let's see if it holds out.
