Like they said, there is nothing wrong with your car. That smell is normal in crossfires, and generally, for European cars from that era. The smell can be fixed by bombing your car with a fragrance bomb. Waldig (Woody) did a writeup about tearing apart his autocross car to fix the smell, but it didn't help until he simply infused the car with a new smell.
Waldig did eliminate the smell by replacing the head liner, but I believe it was Valk and later someone else who used the bomb in their car.
