I'd not waste ANY more time on ANY thing. I'd measure fuel pressure at the end of the rail, passenger side, front of engine. If you don't have specified fuel pressure (dont have the manual in front of me, but I THINK they specify 45-55 lbs) then stop there and fix that.

Beyond that, remember that teh Transmission control module gets to 'vote' on throttle opening, but in park/neurtral, that would not be as big of a deal.

Response to Klay's post: The engine (at least in a manual) is rev limited to 4100 or so with the clutch in, I can't see an auto being rev-limited to 2000.


Fuel delivery, ignition or throttle body - that is where I'd be concentrating. And as others have said, reading codes and pending codes is also a good first step.
