This is a European car and capacities are quoted in litres. In Canada we officially use the metric system and I put in 8 litres. The 8 litres is the official engine oil capacity. You have to drain it well and it just comes above the full mark. No sweat. Some places in the manuals give less oil to fill the engine.
The US is one of the few countries left that use that old system, and they get confused with this hornery metric system as they do with spelling the English language.
