If you have to replace it every year or two then you have an underlying problem that you are not fixing. I wish I had the answer for you guys but I don't. This is something that I haven't had to deal with yet.
The last one I put lasted almost two years. There is no underlying problem I am not fixing. Some people in the Mercedes forums have to change the brake light switch every year too. Every Mercedes dealership carries it in stock because it is such a common issue.
