I suspect if the fob was bad, it would not crank at all. This is a different issue "cranks but does not fire" &need to perform triage, fuel, air, ignition.


First thing I'd do is to check for a fuel issue by pulling the engine cover/air cleaners and pour about 1/2 oz of known good gasoline into the throat. Pour along side and not in center to miss the MAF sensor. Then crank. If it fires even briefly it is a fuel problem, if not the next place to check is ignition e.g. pull a plug wire, connect a good spark plug, ground it and crank. If you get a spark then fire is good.


Sounds like a new problem not related to the SKREEM.
