No start/anti theft issue
Replaced Crank Position Sensor last night with no change. The best one I could find available in town was the DuraLast OEM #003 153 27 28, 003 153 28 28 for $56.00. I was really counting on this solving the issue. I did not order the Bosch part online because my time has expired with my rental car and I desperately need transportation. I will examine the connection when I get home, if that is not the source of the problem I am not sure where to turn next.
Just curious, I don't ever remember a response to the second key question. If it is a bad bey FOB and you don't have a second key I would suggest a new key??? Even with a new Screem, if the key is bad they would not communicate. Could have been the key all along.
If my key is bad, could it cause all the different "no-start" symptoms? At first I thought it was the battery and replacing it worked for a couple days, then the 2 start and nothing so I replaced the SKREEM and now it turns but no spark. Seems like it couldn't be the same issue this whole time. ???
You know what they say about assume! Did you make sure the antenna was plugged back in to the SKREEM unit securely? No pulled or broken wires on either end of of the antenna?
If it is cranking the starter and not firing off.. You might have an engine code set that will point to the issue.. Crank sensor or not impossible cam sensor..
I suspect if the fob was bad, it would not crank at all. This is a different issue "cranks but does not fire" &need to perform triage, fuel, air, ignition.
First thing I'd do is to check for a fuel issue by pulling the engine cover/air cleaners and pour about 1/2 oz of known good gasoline into the throat. Pour along side and not in center to miss the MAF sensor. Then crank. If it fires even briefly it is a fuel problem, if not the next place to check is ignition e.g. pull a plug wire, connect a good spark plug, ground it and crank. If you get a spark then fire is good.
Sounds like a new problem not related to the SKREEM.
