The problem is generally the plate at the bottom of the gearbox. The solenoid plate is what it is called. A solenoid gets sticky and the car goes into limp mode which is just second gear.
You search to study this problem and see if your symptoms match the ones in the posts.
Never go near that dealership again they are just thieves.
Do it yourself for $300 bucks at the most.
