1) I'm having a hard time blaming the "wiring harness". If anything, I'd question the contact made between the male terminals in the boot plugged onto the CPS and the female pins of the CPS itself.
Or..............
2) Sounds to me like a generic crank sensor was installed. Others have reported that non-Bosch, locally obtained CPSs from Autozone, etc. will act like this.

3) Chrysler does not make parts for these cars, they never did. What's worse, is they stock (apparently) no parts to speak of, either.
