Before you decide to take drastic measures, get the simulator suggested or an equivalent, and one of these. It fits in the sockets of the Air Bag wiring. Some connectors are in the footwell side panels (check out the wiring in Section 8W of the Service Manual). Be sure to disconnect the battery before messing with the Air Bags. Also remember to reset the Airbag light after each test.
