180 I beg to differ on the brakes not lasting that long. My 04 coupe had the original brakes on it at 78000 miles until I had the fronts replaced only because I thought it was time to not because of any issued with them. Just in my experience.

Dust comes from wear, those soft pads are not meant to last long just stop the car. I am light on brakes which shows in the miles I can get from a good set.
Are you sure you did not swap out the pads for ceramics?
