Can these parts be replaced?
I'm looking at buying my first Crossfire. I have found a 06 roadster in good condition that has been someones daily driver for the past 6 years. It has the two tone black/cream leather interior. It could use a good cleaning. It has 71000 miles on it (higher than I was hoping for). It needs tires. The rims look like they have been scraping curbs. Can those be sanded down smooth? Body is in good condition. One very small ding in passenger door. There are however a few trim pieces that I noticed were broken. Can these be replaced. The horizontal strips across the grill. Two of them are broken. Also one of the "clips" between the seats is broken. Can I buy these? My one other concern is the owner tells me that he has never replaced the brakes. 71000 miles on original brakes? Shouldn't it need new brakes by now? Here are a few photos of the trim. I would appreciate any advice. I should probably add that the can started and ran very well. Smooth steering, brakes seemed fine. Top went up and down smoothly. Top in perfect condition. Interior good condition...just dirty. Cold AC, Warm heat

I know you can find custom grill inserts, but if you want a direct replacement I would suggest starting here with a search. Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market is one I have used to find parts. (searches a nationwide database.)

Grilles can be purchased on eBay sometimes, the clip could be got from a wreck and the wheels need refinishing professionally.
too many miles? Wait for another one or get the price down.
Is he the original owner? I doubt it, brakes do not last that long, so they could have been replaced by previous owner(s).

The current owner told me he bought the car from the original owner at 9500 miles. The current owner has put 60000 miles on it over the past 6 years. It is driven daily by his wife. So he knows that the brakes have never been replaced. I just want to know if I will need to expect the cost of a brake job if I should buy the car and if I need to adjust the price for that.
At rockauto.com , you can get all rotors an pads for about $200 (depending on how much you want to spend $600). You can do it in about 3 hrs. on a easy day....
It's not the miles that wear brakes.. It's the stopping between them.
Dust comes from wear, those soft pads are not meant to last long just stop the car. I am light on brakes which shows in the miles I can get from a good set.
Are you sure you did not swap out the pads for ceramics?

So, I need to make a decision on whether to buy this car or wait for the next one to come along. Replacing the brakes is not a deal breaker....I just needed to know if brakes somehow lasted longer on this car than most. I just need to adjust the price of my offer to reflect that upcoming cost. I know the owner does not feel that the brakes need replacing though.
I've been searching within a 150 mile radius of my home for a car that meets my criteria and this is the only one I see.
Pros..........2006 Blue, roadster, automatic, clean title (no wrecks), good body condition.
Cons.........71,000 miles (higher than I would have liked to find), engine compartment is very dirty (maybe it just needs some TLC) two tone interior Black/vanilla is very dirty (maybe just needs cleaned but I would be upset if the dirty vanilla didn't brighten up real nice when cleaned)
Current owner has come down $2000 from his original asking price so far and I feel that he is nearing his point of telling me to take a hike but I do not want to over pay for this car. On the other hand he has had this car for sale for 6 months. I have no issue paying fair market value though.
What to do.....what to do....Hmmmmm??????

so all that dust on the front wheel came out of nowhere?

Save your money and buy an SRT, worth the wait.

I'm not sure how they would function as a coat hook but I'll have to find a new one.

I have to agree with Nunyadan and Onehundred80. Unless the price is fantastic one the one you are looking at. There are many cars with lower millage and better condition out there. I flew out to Arizona to get mine. The 1800 miles back home was a blast. Just be patient while looking.
