I removed the wiper arms and plastic cowl cover to ensure that the drains were clear and to install the missing wiper isolator on the driver's side wiper. While inside the cowl I decided to remove the alarm, cut it open, and replace the batteries. After cutting the alarm open I found that the circuit board was badly burned. Caused by leaking batteries. Is it ok to remove the alarm and not install a working alarm? I really don't care if there is an alarm on my car. The key fob, door locks, and flashing lights seem to work the same. I can't see any reason to spend money for an item that I don't think I need. Please let me know if the alarm must be installed. Since my circuit board is burned to a crisp, I can't see how an alarm must be installed. I respect the members of this forum and wait for your comments. Thanks.
