I am a stickler for the actual facts, you say after 3 tries you do the reset, that is different from having to do the reset.
If you have to do the reset then it is definitely the SKREEM at fault. You never mentioned the three strikes and out condition until now and you were not definitive in it even then.
Get a SKREEM. If that does not work please do not blame me.
