If you purchased the car used, someone else may have had that control out. Has anyone removed the radio? You will need the radio removal tools (one in each lower corner of the radio) then that uncovers two screws inside that hole. Find a radio removal post, and a A/C control head removal/install post, to get the info you need. Hope that is all that is needed (aligning the shaft). Good luck, search is your friend!

The car was bought from a one owner who had an issue years ago with stuck CD's, so there is a good chance the radio has been previously removed.
I have since started investigation and did identify I would need radio removal tools. (they didn't come with the car, did they?)
I am currently on my desktop so will commence decent search for previous posts. I access this wonderful site mostly from my mobile phone where "search" is not your friend.
