That is what I did. I turn the key on and light up the dash without starting the car. Waited a few seconds then turn it off. Then turn the kay back on. Eventually it would start. I have owned this car 14 years. The first 4 years I drove it every day. The past 10 years it has been in the garage and driven just once a month for a nice long run. Always started immediately. I never had this problem before. It just seems strange that it is happening now. Could the fuel filter be dirty?
I would suspect the check valve in the filter, when you turn on the engine with the key just before the bstart position do you hear the fuel pump runningbfor long?
You could check the fuel pressure in the fuel rail after you have left the car for ten minutes or put a pressure gage on it and watch it for a sudden drop in pressure when the car is turned off.
