The new ones may be OK as they should have learnt from the problems they had on the first ones.
Maybe it was caused by improper technique on just some of the production at the time.
Probably insufficient time in the solder bath to fuse the joints.
But, too long in the bath could burn the components making it a balancing act.
Touch of the old soldering iron and all is well.
