In the early 90s I had an 87 450 SEL. AT 90 some thousand miles the plastic tensioners on the timing chain came apart and the pieces got in between the sprockets and the chain. Several valves got bent and had to replace the heads. Arizona is a great environment for bodies but not so great on plastic parts.

I was in Atlanta and I was talking about cars to a customer, I said our Canadian cars suffered body rust and he said their interiors went to hell. Out of two ten year old cars we could make one good car. 😀
