I am getting more and more skeptical about cloning our keys, I looks like Mercedes used a rolling code system between 1998 and 2008:
SLK 55, SLK230,SLK280, SLK35019982008AllMfg. RestrictedCode SeriesDealer Key-High Security Key. Phillips Rolling Code System, Orderedby VIN
