Do you have anyone with access to the car who is larcenous by nature?
If it is a leak then there should be a stain on the floor beneath the leak.
If this is a failure of the rubber and caused by the ethanol in the fuel it would be the first time that I remember it happening here, the fuel hoses are lined with an ethanol-resistant material PTFE (Teflon) and are not nitrile rubber anymore. The OEM hose could have been replaced with the wrong hose material. The clamp may have cut through the hose.
