Empty gas tank
2005 coupe in garage for the winter. Started up fine every time. Strong odor? After 4 months gas tank that was full is now complety empty. Called 3 local Chrysler dealerships and all 3 said they no longer service crossfires. Any one else have this issue? Thanks, Maureen. Georgetown MA
I would guess that the ethanol content finally got to the rubber fuel lines around the pump and filter.
If you don't want to fix it yourself ( pretty easy fix ), then almost any European car service shop can do it.

If it is a leak then there should be a stain on the floor beneath the leak.
If this is a failure of the rubber and caused by the ethanol in the fuel it would be the first time that I remember it happening here, the fuel hoses are lined with an ethanol-resistant material PTFE (Teflon) and are not nitrile rubber anymore. The OEM hose could have been replaced with the wrong hose material. The clamp may have cut through the hose.

She goes into more detail on Facebook. I was convinced someone drove the car, but she said there was a strong odor of gas and a mat is curled up under the car now, like it was wet.
I can't believe the fumes never ignited, this could have been REALLY bad. And fumes in the house not only could ignite, but cause respiratory problems.
THIS is one for the BOOKS.
