The engine fan is variable speed, it runs just enough to keep the coolant around 205F as a maximum. If your needle BARELY goes above 1/2 way, all is working as designed.
Ok thanks for this. I was just wondering as I know the fan comes on with the air con and that's not happening at the moment wasn't sure if this pointed towards another issue with the engine fan - but as the clutch on the air con isn't engaging anyway it's probably nothing to do with the engine fan!
