He has verified the "Trunk Closed" indication is there and the lock signal from the electric trunk lock is there?

THESE are the "signals to work", these and the closed indication from the switch are what it takes to make the TCM command the pump to start.

And does he mean the PUMP is bad or the Top Control Module (TCM) is bad?

I doubt this. I really do. But if he HAS done all the above, we need his name and phone number, cause we will have a LOT of people local to you who should be taking their cars to this guy.
I'm not being sarcastic, if he's that good, we are gonna keep him BUSY.
I have been in contact with Klaus. Talking to mechanic after 5 tonight again. Klaus does have a rebuilt top pump available. Thanks for info.
