I am a high school auto instructor so a dealership is the last place this car will be going to. Your stuck w me. The best help comes from the DIY ers. Im working on finding a good schematic now and just thought those who have been there, done that could get me going in the right direction. Thanks
Could this be the car that had the battery connected backwards? Seems that owner spent a ton of time but don't recall it ever getting fixed.

CAN bus has an easy check, find any module with it and measure the resistance between the pins. Battery disconnected of course. 60 ohms will have continuity to both terminating resistors. Anything else you will have to find the wiring or module with terminating resistor problem. If I recall correctly the SKREEM module had one of the 120 ohm resistors.
