DO NOT say "Crossfire" at NAPA or other places you go. They will go by the "gospel of the autoparts guide", which will lead them astray.

Example:
Tell the guy at NAPA you have a 2003 SLK320 and that you need an oil filter. He iwll sell you a fleece filter.
Tell him you have an 05 Crossfire - he will sell you a cheap, crappy, paper filter that will collapse under the 90pounds of cold oil pressure the M112 produces (higher with 5W40 oil).

But it's the same engine...................

Wow, this is good stuff to know guys! Specific car forums are always the place to really get to know the car. Thank you for the tip. From now on I drive a Mercedes.
The conductor plate, fluid and a dipstick are ordered. I plan to carefully measure the level before draining the trans.
