Re: BAS Group Buy?
I successfully installed my new BAS top over the weekend. The instructions that are in a STICKY are very good. A couple of additional tips: only pull the front rubber seal back far enough to be able to drill out the pop rivet. There is no rivet under the center seal don't remove it. The back seal will need to be fully removed as there are two rivets. Also note the position of how the straps attach to the frame; my front ones were different, they actually wrapped under the frame...see below. There are a number of clips on the bottom of the top where it attaches to the frame. You will need to remove these carefully and reuse them if your top came from BAS. Use a small flat head screwdriver to pry off. On the new top line up where they were on the old top and once in place crimp with a pair of pliers. You do not need to remove the rivet on the pad strap unless you are replacing them; mine were fine. You will need to have assistance with someone holding the pad down on the frame so you can slide the top off; this applies to the back frame channel only. The hardest part for me was getting the rubber seals back in the frame.
When you are finished and need to secure the top with the D ring I needed to pull the top down at each corner, with assistance on the right side, in order to lock the top; it is very taut. As noted above you should leave the top up for a month when not driving as the top needs to stretch.
I washed it the next day and the top beads up like multiple coats of 303 were applied. Very pleased with BAS International top, highly recommend them when you need to replace yours.
