Our '06 coupe
Driving my 06 coupe home after purchase I could hear a very slight whine coming from the rear so following the manuals mention I changed the differential lube which was black @.47k . I used Mobil 1 synthetic 75 - 90 & now cannot detect the whine . I found a short grade 5 bolt of the matching plug hex & welded a matching nut on the end to remove the plugs which req'd a breaker bar to loosen . Both plugs are the same hex.
I've done every problem preventative thing I could from this site & some of my own --- re-soldered the relay 3 joints which were cracked , added a neg cable from batt to bell housing which seems to have added a little pizazz to charging of the new battery when driving as it cranks faster when starting ?? Replaced the cam & crank sensors & better insulated the crank sensor from heat .
To avoid lisc plt holes in the vertical front bumper face , I made some L brackets that fasten unseen to the horizontal bumper surface below the face w/ screws & double sided VHB tape .
Also made some adaptors out of 20" pieces of 2 x 10's to enable using my existing car ramps w/ the Crossfire .
I really like this little car which has had no problems prior to purchase that I'm aware of as the previous owner took very good care of it . Street rods are nice as well as the 01 Carrera we had , but for the price , this Crossfire is a fine little head turner to be enjoyed hopefully for some long trips .
