Another comment: Those areas on the circuit board that had gotten hot and look black are another issue. The circuit board is made so that there is no conductivity between circuit runs. Conductivity is through the components mounted on the circuit board. Now the circuit board has burned areas which are basically carbon and carbon, like a resistor, conducts electricity. There really isn't anyway to fix this circuit board.
