What paint color are you going to use? I was always curious if the glossy and satin finishes were the same color but just different finishes. It seems there hasn’t been an exact paint color given for the consoles. On the SRT6 website it says unknown. I just had my outside trim, strakes and door handles painted and the shop said they used MB 518 single toner fine silver. It’s hard to see if it matches the inside though because the outside is glossy but my inside is satin
I have used Duplicolor CBCC0410 Bright Silver Metallic (PS2), it is initially too shiny for 2005 model years and up but when it was really dry I knocked the finish back with a light rub down with a fine wet and dry paper used with water. This is OK on flat surfaces but rubbing down sharply curved surfaces would be a bad idea. I am satisfied with this colour.
I want to use a semi-gloss clear coat if I can find it. There is a matte Duplicolor clear coat I am looking for. I may end up painting the hinged lid of the console and cup holder (bin) bezel to match the other parts and use a gloss clear coat on it all.
There is a Mercedes silver said to be a good match but have not found it and so I have no comment on it, maybe it's this number Duplicolor 604881, Mercedes 744 LS2.
Other colours mentioned Duplicolor Star Bright NH638M and Testors Model Silver, a Wurth wheel paint was mentioned but is said to be filled with aluminium flakes that are too large.
