If you intend to keep the car for a few more years, or take a trip out of state it is well worth the investment in an RCM and a CPS as spares. It is not a question of "if', but a question as to when either will fail. Now if you are always within a stones throw of the house, no problem.
My cars never had the CPS or the RCM replaced and I doubt that most have been replaced, reading the problems in posts on this forum is like going to a hospital and saying everyone must be sick because of all you see there are sick people.
Some people have replaced the CPS when there was nothing wrong with it that is like replacing a throttle body just in case it fails due to its age.
My philosophy is if it ain't broke leave it alone.
