I mentioned the CPS going out on my car just because you brought it up, wasn't implying I wouldn't carry one because i changed it. I don't trust new parts any more anyway, seeing how everything is outsourced and quality suffers.
far as taking a long trip in this car, I'm not that much of a gambler.
and even if i was 5 miles from home, still rather have a spare than walking or waiting for a ride. I wasn't arguing about carrying spares, it's a fine idea for cars this age with known issues.
