So what was the FINAL CONSENSUS on this? Can I do this the easy way by pulling fuse F5 and running the car until it dies, or will that throw a DTC code?
I just replaced mine yesterday. The easy way is to just clamp off all 4 fuel lines, remove clamps, pull lines off filter, remove filter, replace filter, put new clamps on fuel lines, install lines on new filter, tighten clamps. Start car and check for leaks. Very little fuel spill doing this. A little will come out of the lines and the filter holds a lot. Keep a small pan underneath to catch any fuel and to put the filter in. No additional steps are necessary doing it this way. Wrap something around the lines to prevent any damage to them from clamping. I used cardboard.
