Another poster on this thread mentioned using 8 inch thick wood blocks in lieu of jack stands, and I think that's a cheap & safe alternative - and they will stack neatly when not being used. Now, if you buy one jack for $130 (Canadian), you'll have $390 left to buy a few wood supports and throw a pretty nice party for your friends.
there are many alternatives. and i did not sugest 4 of those. if you think about it, just 1 can do for lifting, and for supporting, the cheapest way is wood blocks, as you say.
or 2 sets of stands.

the point is to compare supporting with jacks or stands for safety.
and of course, low jacks are more expensive than regular, but as these cars are low, hence the need.
