Re: warranty problems
I work as a Finance Manager at a Chrysler Dodge Jeep store. You can modify parts of the vehicle, but naturally - DCX will only warranty factory parts. Another quirk to be aware of is if the modification had an adverse effect on another part i.e., an aftermarket supercharger would add more power to the engine, and would be harder on the driveline, they will follow the trail and any "affected" part is also void under warranty.
So just be aware of the ripple effect that is caused by any subsequent modification.
As a side note, a funny story - we had a customer who purchased a honda civic from us a year ago. About 3-4 months ago, he came into the service drive with a blown motor. Upon inspection, the service techs found a great amount of sand in his engine. We eventually found out he was trying to "port and polish" the motor by putting sand into his intake... lol... Needless to say, an instant classic.
