This evening after about 30 miles driven over two days on tighed1’s swapper RCM module, the CEL returned. P0410.
The secondary air injection pump still cycles on for a few seconds while sitting at stoplights. It may cycle on while the car is moving, but I cannot hear it to confirm.
Looks like my problem is not the RCM. I now think that my original RCM with the new relay is fine, as the same behavior happens with the swapper RCM. Am curious what tighed1 determines after he receives my original RCM on Monday.
I replaced the blue air pump check valve less than a year ago with a new one, so don’t think that it’s the problem.
I’ve also ordered a set of Torx female sockets so that I can remove pump’s ground connection for detailing.
I did find an old post in this thread
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/877529-post7.html describing how to hack the control code to turn off the secondary air pump, but the tool needed to do so is $500. (The poster is in Gilroy about 35 miles from me, so I will message him to see if he’s still active on forum.) One also has to believe the MB SLK320 control code is used as-is by the Crossfire before doing the hack.
Has anyone else encountered this behavior? If so, guidance please? Thanks
