I agree with that.

But I still wonder if there was ever a completion of the tests suggested by Pizzaguy in Post #22. Were any voltage measurements ever made to answer question number 1 in Post #22? Sorry if I've missed seeing them. This is an interesting thread.
Low voltage may make the starter try to engage but not turn over...or as you said "the problem lies with starter failure".
