I do not know why I bothered to answer this thread, I normally ignore this type of question.
I shall be more picky in future, we also have new experts who make errors in their replies or suggest replacing components that may not be the cause of the problem. I never say replace a part until it is proved to be wrong. Some find it easy to spend other people’s money.

Also someone had a go at me today for no apparent reason saying that I thought I was an expert on the Crossfire. I have never claimed that at all, my knowledge comes from the forum itself and common sense. Common sense seems to be in short supply these days. This person also added me to a list of Canadians he did not like, seems a bit racist to me. I asked him if all colours were included. I guess we have a good idea who he will vote for.

Really no apparent reason? You attacked first and told me to FO. Yes you were acting like an automotive manufacturing expert. That a huge company like Daimler Chrysler would not order Stabilus to make lift supports to their exact specifications that it would supposedly be so expensive.

I disagree with the advice not to change any part unless it fails. For example if you are replacing a leaky radiator and the hoses then there is nothing wrong with changing a thermostat that is probably next to fail especially since it would be a lot of work to change later. Also, changing the CPS if your car is a daily driver every 3 or 4 years is cheap and saves a lot of trouble. Having the CPS fail at a red light or a stop sign or a drive thru is not fun and has happened to me. Furthermore if you are changing a fuel filter and have high mileage then there is nothing wrong with changing the fuel pump since they are right next to each other.

Not that it is any of your business I do not support either candidate/party.
