Can anyone direct me to a satisfactory solution?

If you direct your mechanic to the webpage posted, they will be able to fix the car without a parts order. IF you think you can do it yourself, get the car home and work on it at your leisure (since you got another car). Either way, it should only be a labor charge unless the part is already there and cannot be returned for credit and THEY do the fix (of course if you bring it home they'll probably charge you for what time they already have in it). This is all premised on that it is in fact the sticky key issue! Good Luck!
