That's too high. Most people put in 8.5 quarts of oil at changes - this is simply too much. Put in 8 quarts, that's what Iv'e done since 2009. This will be close to the top end of the range on the dipstick.

Keep in mind, "safe" is up to 2 quarts below full (read the manual carefully). There is no need to put more than 8 quarts in there.
