I think your confusing the transmission fluid with engine oil. Engine is 6.1quarts and trans holds 8.5 quarts. Transmission is exactly what amount of fluid you remove because you can't drain the torque converter.
Why bother to ask if you know the answer, myself I would take the word of someone who has been here eleven years not a month.
You should write the definitive book on servicing the Crossfire.
