If you put 8.5 qts of oil in this car you should get a nice audible chime and your odometer flashing saying oil to high.
Mine's has been leaking for years and I haven't replaced it. I just wipe it down every few weeks, this is only on this motor and trans. If you visit the Mercedes forums you'll see owners with the m112 talking about rear main leaks.
Good information about the chime. I'll try your suggestion about wiping it down every so often. So far it doesn't have any drips on my driveway. If I get a chance tomorrow I'll jack it up and wipe it down. Thanks
