Ref the recent post from Mikey208. Like Mikey, I bought my XF recently (September 2020). It came with only one Key/Fob which was not in good shape - the spring for the key blade is broken so I have inserted a length of plastic into the storage slot to hold the key open and rolled a few rubber rings around the key to hold everything together. However, the key DOES work - locks/unlocks remotely and starts the car. I live in South Africa - Chrysler upped and left here a few years ago, leaving Jeep/Alfa Romeo/Fiat dealerships to carry the can. Two local dealers have told me that replacement Key/Fobs are no longer available from Chrysler USA and suggested I "search online, try eBay". Yes, I have found sellers offering Key/Fobs with blank, uncut blades but no electronics, so not a lot of use (not to mention shipping costs to SA). Having read some write-ups about transferring the "innards" from the working key to a new key/fob, I am reluctant to attempt that and risk having no working key. My next port of call will be Mercedes dealerships, followed by auto-locksmiths here in SA but, having read through this thread, I'm not very hopeful....
