Default making the crossie more comfortable

to me is the most beautiful car i ever saw. and then i learned that she can cook. technically is a wonder too. but, as anything, there are things that could make it more enjoyable, and 1 of them is if it could be less sensitive to the bumps of the road. yes, is a sports car, and it is a characteristic of all of them, but many of us, perhaps due to our age, would like to make it more comfy.
1 thing to consider is the kind of wheels, that dont use the sides as shock absorbers, as most modern wheels do, and are the main reason for this discomfort.
and i wonder if there are other wheels in the market that could replace them? that match the bolts layout, and are of smaller outside diameter? like 16", and then find tires that have about the same outside diameter as the original?
i know that this will affect the handling; that will not be so stable, especially in tight curves at high speed, but for some like me, that live in places where we cant drive wild, this would be of great help.
links are welcome, and so, other ideas. this is our project.
and please, if you have any objection about this project, if you think it is crazy, please dont post.
