but still checked the mechanism where the lever slides and feels rough. will lube the parts and see how it goes. i hope this takes care of it.
or perhaps just taking it to rustproofing and see? for years when doing it i have noticed a great improvement in everything in my cars so will try and tell.
update: had it rustproofed but no difference. still had to do so didnt mean any special effort.
