Filled it up again using turkey baster and Klaus approved hydraulic fluid, reattached hydraulic line and tried running it. Windows didn't go down when I unlatched handle over windshield. Think maybe issue is that I failed to reattach connection on side of hydraulic fluid reservoir. Would that prevent windows from going down when windshield release is engaged?
No.
The switch in the windshield frame that senses your releasing the top from the frame sends a signal to the Top Control Module in the trunk - that module then tells the Body Control Module to lower the windows. Low fluid, I do nto believe, will cause the top module to not command a lowering of the windows.
