On the original fitment there is a seal that runs from side to side across the back of the engine bay. I wonder if the removal of that rubber seal would help move air out of the engine bay and thus help with a cooler engine compartment. The lower edge of the windshield is generally a low pressure area.
I tried that a few years back, didn't seem to effect engine / IAT temps, but it worked real well to put oil mist on the windshield
