My bet is the CLP/SSM has been wet. (This is the central locking pump you mention above). Did you unplug EVERY connector and check for "green grungies"?
Almost all the symptoms you describe can be attributed to a bad CLP/SSM. That is, your items 1 to 4, but not 5, all can be caused by a bad CLP/SSM.
