For some reason some actually hold 8 quarts and some 8.5 quarts. I put in 8 quarts and the go by the dipstick. I have owned 6 crossfires and they do very.
I wonder if it's the dipstick? I had European cars in the past with similar style dipsticks that would be inaccurate either due to the plastic marker moving or the wire contracting / expanding over time.
Also, not sure if this was mentioned, but 8 Liters = 8.5 Quarts.
I'm wondering if some folks are simply measuring with Liters vs. Quarts? Because the M112 Mercedes motor doesn't have any history if requiring less than 8.5 Quarts.
